Jared Suwyn

Club coaching experience:

Jared has been coaching for The San Diego Show for 11 Years and has coached various age groups within the organization highlighted by a very successful run with the SHOW 9U group that won USSSA National Championship in 2011. 

College coaching experience:

Suwyn spent 4 seasons as an Assistant Baseball Coach at Cal State San Marcos 2016-2019 season. Suwyn served as the pitching coach but also assisted with all aspects of the program, including recruiting, scheduling, student-athlete support and travel.

Prior to CSUSM he spent three seasons as the pitching coach on Buck Taylor’s staff at Palomar College. Four of his pitchers were named NJCAA All-Americans and he helped 20 hurlers earn baseball scholarships at four-year universities. In 2013, his pitching staff compiled an earned run average of 2.71 overall and 1.94 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play on the way to a PCAC championship.

High School Coaching Experience:

Suwyn served as head varsity coach at Mira Mesa High School in San Diego in 2012. Mira Mesa went to the CIF semifinals and finished with a record of 24-5. His ace pitcher, Jake Newberry, won Eastern League Player of the Year honors and was drafted in the 37th round by the Kansas City Royals.

He made his coaching debut in 2009 as pitching coach for Kearny High School in San Diego, helping Kearny to the school’s first league title in 28 years. Then was named head coach at Kearny high for 2 seasons in 2010 and 2011.

Prep playing days: 

Suwyn pitched three years of NCAA Division I baseball at San Diego State for head coach Tony Gwynn before transferring to CSUSM for his senior season in 2008.

Suwyn prep at Mission Bay High School. Suwyn was a three-time all-league selection at Mission Bay and was named All-CIF San Diego Section in 2003 after posting a sterling 13-0 record.

Personal and Family:

He earned his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from SDSU in 2009. Suwyn lives in San Diego with his wife, Angela, and 3 children Kayleigh, Chase and Aria.
